The Bombers Jr C Lacrosse organization is pleased to announce Luke Ringler as their Head Coach for the upcoming 2017 season.
The Bombers are excited to announce a shift in coaching/team strategies this year that sees Luke at the helm of a young and talented team. Luke brings a wealth of coaching experience, having proven himself as an established and very successful coach in the past 18 years.
Luke’s coaching career began in 1999 at the very young age of 22 years of age. He took on enormous responsibilities with the (now defunct) Barrie Tornado organization:
-Minor system, 1999-2001, several houseleague teams;
-Minor system, 2001-2007, several Rep teams: took teams to “A” qualifiers in 2004, 2005, & 2006;
-Minor system, 2006, took Midgets to Summer Games and placed 5th in the Province;
-Jr B system, 2001, 2004-2006, Assistant Coach;
-Jr B system, 2007, Head Coach, 11-9 record.
Luke’s success with the Barrie Tornado system quickly lead him to a Head Coach position with the Newmarket Jr B lacrosse team for 6 years, from 2009-2014. Under Luke’s command, the team compiled a 73-47 record, qualifying for 5 of 6 playoff seasons.
Luke remains involved in the game of lacrosse. He is heavily involved with the Barrie Bombers Minor organization, volunteering his time as the VP of Rep teams for the past 2 years. He continues in this role for the upcoming 2017 season as well. He’s also been involved as a Rep Coach for the last 3 years, taking the Tyke team from a ‘C’ rating to an ‘B’ rating, in 2014. He accomplished this same task with the Novice team in 2015 and remained a top ‘B' contender in 2016.
The Bombers have released last year’s Head Coach, Garrett Clifford. The Bombers Jr C organization thanks him for his dedication and commitment to the Bombers Jr C organization, the Bombers team, and the Bomber players. We wish him well in his future endeavours.
