Luke West Memorial Game 2024

Please join us for a very special Ontario Junior C Lacrosse league exhibition game vs Huntsville Jr C Hawks Lacrosse on Sunday April 21/24 at 2pm as we are honouring the life and legacy of one of our most beloved players, Luke West.

We would like to thank the Huntsville Hawks Jr C Club for joining us to take part in this special event.  Luke’s parents David and Susan (Davis) West, both grew up in Huntsville and have strong ties to the Huntsville lacrosse community.

Luke has a seat dedicated to his memory at the Jack Bionda Arena, in Huntsville.

Luke played many seasons in Barrie minor lacrosse and after graduating from minor Lacrosse, Luke went on to become a core member of the Jr. C Bombers’ most successful teams. Luke first played for the Jr C’s as a Minor Midget at the age of 14. He was a locker room favourite due to his toughness, tenacity, and incredible lacrosse IQ.

After his playing career, Luke stayed involved in the sport by volunteering his time back to the minor association in Barrie coaching the U17 team during the 2022 season.

Luke loved the game of lacrosse, he loved his teammates, he loved his off floor staff and loved giving back to the game through coaching.  Luke was a special person who made everyone around him better not only as a player but as a person.  His passion for lacrosse and passion for helping other people hold a very special place in the Bombers family.

RIP Lukey, the hearts you touched are forever changed.

Luke West died tragically on August 27, 2022, at the age of 22.

The Barrie Bombers Jr C Lacrosse Club will be accepting donations at the entrance, in lieu of regular admission prices.

The proceeds will be split with the Barrie SPCA.  Last year we raised $1700.00 for the Barrie SPCA thanks to your generous support!
